This time, the culprit is Jerry Reinsdorf, who made his fortune in real estate partnerships. He sold his company, Balcor, to American Express in 1973. Since then, Reinsdorf has purchased both the Chicago White Sox (worth approximately $2.05 billion) and the Chicago Bulls (valued at around $2.5 billion).
