Police arrested former TCU and Seattle Seahawks quarterback Trevone Boykin Wednesday night at his home in Mansfield, Texas, and charged him with aggravated assault against his girlfriend, Shabrika Bailey, according to reports.
Bailey said in an interview Monday that Boykin had choked her out and broken her jaw last Tuesday during an argument about text messages. WFAA reported that police arrested Boykin after viewing surveillance video from his home that showed what appeared to be an assault.
“Basically [detectives] were able to confirm the assault occurred after reviewing the video,” Sgt. William Yale said, according to the report.
The Seahawks cut Boykin on Tuesday, after which he said the abuse allegations were false.
We’ve requested a copy of the arrest report and will update if we hear back.
