The Predators are on a three-game winning streak, with Forsberg scoring the OT winner in each of Nashville's last two games. The Predators are a perfect 5-0-0 in games decided beyond regulation this season.
Roman Josi and Ryan O'Reilly each had a goal and two assists for Nashville, while Forsberg and Juuso Parssinen each had a goal and an assist. Jeremy Lauzon and Tyson Barrie scored the Predators' other goals.
Predators goalie Kevin Lankinen stopped 25 of 30 shots to earn his fourth win in seven starts this season.
It was the first time (1-10-0) this season that the Predators won after trailing by two or more goals in a game.
The loss ended the Hurricanes' two-game winning streak, and Carolina is 2-4-1 in its last seven games.
Stefan Noesen and Martin Necas each had a goal and an assist for the Hurricanes, and Michael Bunting had two assists. Tony DeAngelo, Jalen Chatfield, and Sebastian Aho also scored for Carolina.
Antti Raanta stopped 25 of 31 shots.
Power-play goals from Noesen and DeAngelo gave Carolina a 2-1 lead at the first intermission. The Hurricanes maintained their one-goal lead after a wild second period that saw both teams score three goals within a span of 6:31.
Josi got things started with an outstanding wraparound goal 3:47 into the second frame. Carolina then delivered a pair of quick follow-up goals, as Chatfield scored at the 4:50 mark and Aho added on 19 seconds later.
O'Reilly's power-play marker at the 9:26 mark then started a string of three goals within 52 seconds. Necas took advantage of a bad pass from Nashville defenseman Alexandre Carrier to score 9:51 into the period, only for Barrie to strike 27 seconds later to again bring the Predators within a goal.
An odd-man rush 10:57 into the third period led to the Predators' equalizer. Lauzon finished off the passing play to score his second goal of the season.
