Marathoning With Wolves
In trying to expunge the newest reports and associated mental images of Alberto Salazar massaging Galen Rupp late at night with Alpha Male, perhaps in the invigorating new Down By The River scent, I came across this bit of fresh air.
Minnesota author and northwoods blogger Aaron J. Brown promoted a new community event, the first Ely Marathon (also half marathon and 5K). Silver-tongued salesman that he is, he laid it on pretty thick:
If you’d like to run a marathon in a place where there are more moose, bears and wolves than usual, you’ve got a chance Sept. 26 with the first-ever Ely Marathon. ... The run is timed to coincide with peak fall colors, so even if you get the shakes, throw up and pass out, you’ll enjoy a splendid autumnal display.
I’m even now looking into registration.
