Florida State ekes out win at Boston College to end losing streak

Florida State (13-9, 7-4 ACC) led 63-60 until Boston College's Devin McGlockton made a layup with 16 seconds to play, and the Eagles had the ball still down by one after Florida State's Darin Green Jr. missed the front end of a one-and-one with 10 seconds remaining.
After a Florida State foul, Boston College inbounded the ball with 5.8 seconds to play, but the Eagles (13-9, 4-7) failed to get a shot off on their final possession.
Nine Florida State players scored, but Watkins was the only one to reach double figures. Taylor Bol Bowen finished with nine points, and Green and Cameron Corhen had eight apiece.
Quinten Post, a fifth-year senior, led Boston College with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Post, who spent two seasons at Mississippi State before he transferred to the Eagles, surpassed 1,000 career points with a 3-pointer with 13:27 remaining in the first half.
Jaeden Zackery added 11 points and three steals for the Eagles, who also got 10 points from McGlockton. The loss ended Boston College's two-game winning streak.
The Eagles played without guard Donald Hand Jr., who was a late scratch because of a hand injury. Hand averages 5.2 points and 14.5 minutes per game.
They also lost guard Prince Aligbe to an ankle injury with 13:53 left in the half. Aligbe, who is averaging 6.6 points per contest, was taken to the locker room and was ruled out for the remainder of the game.
Florida State scored the game's first nine points and led 19-4 following a 3-pointer by Bowen with 13:53 remaining in the first half. Boston College trimmed its deficit to four points, 35-31, with 3:10 left in the half, but the Eagles missed their next seven shots and trailed 37-31 at halftime.
