Football Recruit Attempts To Jump Over Moving Car, Breaks Arm And Leg
Bladimir Barreto, a 19 year-old from Palm Bay, Fla., was seriously injured when he tried to jump over a moving car while making a video to send to NCAA football recruiters. Barreto attempted to clear a Honda Accord driven by his brother, and was sent hurtling through the air when he failed to clear the oncoming car. According to police, Barreto was conscious as he was rushed to the Holmes Regional Medical Center's trauma center in Melbourne, Fla.
From WTSP:
A graduate of West Melbourne Christian Academy, Barreto two years ago played for the now defunct Brevard Grizzlies, an amateur football team in the Florida Football Alliance.
"He wanted to play football and move on, he's just undersized. He's a small guy that was blessed with speed," said his former Grizzlies coach David Dye, who estimated Barreto to be about 5 feet, 5 inches tall.
