Free Personality Test! (The Race Will Cost You, Though)
This image was lost some time after publication. Outstanding find from The Mighty MJD: Apparently, the Church of Scientology is sponsoring a NASCAR team at a race in California. Well, actually, it's not the church sponsoring the car; it's founder L. Ron Hubbard's book "Dianetics," which, phew, has nothing to do with Scientology at all.
Our brother at Defamer, the true expert in all matters Scientological, could do a better job with this story than we could, but we will say that it's probably wise the first sponsored race is being held in California rather than, say, Kentucky.
Strangely enough, the car's driver, Kenton Gray, actually has more experience with Scientology than he does stock car racing. He founded the Dianetics Motorcycle Racing Team in 2001 and was set for "superstardom" until, as his Web site puts it, "with a full promotional campaign on the offing from Clear Channel, Kenton was headed for national coverage, when the 9-11 tragety (sic) hit." So Gray switch to car racing, and now, here he is, in a NASCAR event. Do they blood-test for thetans, by the way?
