French Midfielder Loses A Chunk Of His Ear In Debut With New Club
Photo via [object Object] Jeremy Menez left AC Milan for Bordeaux two days ago with two ears. He left his Bordeaux debut with one-and-a-half.
In the second half of Bordeaux’s friendly with Lorient today, Menez got tangled up with Lorient midfielder Didier Ndong. Ndong stepped on Menez’s head after the French midfielder went down, and got his spikes caught in Menez’s ear, tearing off the top half.
Here are some photos, if you want to see a partially earless man. The Bordeaux website summed the injury up thusly:
Jeremy Menez had an ear cut off during the encounter face to Lorient which his premature exit in the 77th minute. The medical staff will take a surgical opinion to whether to operate the New Bordeaux.
Losing a body part is about the worst way to make your debut. Anyway, in better times, Menez once scored one of the cooler disallowed goals I’ve seen.
