Georgia Tech faces Boston College from comforts of home

Boston College will have to address its issues on the road against Georgia Tech when the teams meet Saturday in Atlanta.

Since the Yellow Jackets renovated and reopened McCamish Pavilion in the 2012-13 season, Boston College has just a single victory in the venue, a two-point win in January 2015.

Boston College (9-4, 0-2) also is out to get back on track following an 84-78 home loss to Wake Forest in its return to ACC play Tuesday.

"I thought we played hard," BC head coach Earl Grant said. "I thought we played a good game. We lost a two-possession game and we made a couple mistakes defensively that burned us. And then offensively, we probably had three or four possessions where we needed to get a better shot."

Boston College, which saw its four-game winning streak snapped, was led by center Quinten Post, who tallied 20 points, while Devin McGlockton added 15 points and nine rebounds.

"The whole team played hard, but I thought Devin stood out, grabbing seven offensive rebounds," Grant said.

Post leads the Eagles in scoring at 18.4 points per game, followed by Claudell Harris Jr. (14.7).

Georgia Tech's return home has been a long time coming. The Yellow Jackets haven't played on their home court since Dec. 9, playing the last five games away from Atlanta. That includes a three-game run in Hawaii in advance of Christmas.

Georgia Tech (8-5, 1-1) dropped an 82-71 road decision against Florida State on Wednesday.

The Yellow Jackets never recovered from a first half that saw them muster just 19 points while going 1-of-14 from 3-point range.

"Our offense put us in the hole," Georgia Tech coach Damon Stoudamire said. "We didn't do a good job of handling pressure. The second half was different, because we played harder, but I don't want us to get down 13, 15 points and then start playing hard. To me, that's losing basketball."

Georgia Tech's Miles Kelly paced the offense with 20 points, while Kowacie Reeves Jr. added 18. Kelly leads the Yellow Jackets with 15.5 points per game, followed by Reeves (12.2).
