Giannis Antetokounmpo Is Doing Awesome Shit At The FIBA World Cup
So, you probably aren't paying all that much attention to the FIBA World Cup right now, because it's still summer and you've got better things to do than watch Sad Derrick Rose shoot 3-12 in 40 minutes of playing time. With that said, you should be aware of all the dope things Giannis Antetokounmpo, a favorite around here, is doing while playing for the Greek national team.
We'll start with the play above, in which The Greek Freak—who now stands at 6-foot-11, by the way—strips Renaldo Balkman and goes loping down the court to convert a swooping layup that locked up a win for Greece over Puerto Rico on Monday.
Before that play, Giannis also put down a solid dunk while running the floor on a fast break. (You'll begin to notice that Giannis flying down the court and doing cool stuff is a bit of a theme here.)
On Saturday, Giannis snatched the ball away from some poor sap who plays for Senegal, ran the length of the court with a few big strides, and threw down a pretty one-handed dunk.
And finally, we've got this bit of absurdity from earlier in the month, when Greece took on Turkey in a qualifier.
Two dribbles. He needed just two dribbles to get from the three-point line to the rim at the other end. Can the NBA season just start already?
