Giants crush Rockies behind 6 RBIs from Luis Matos

Matt Chapman and Luis Matos continued their two-man demolition of the Colorado Rockies on Saturday afternoon, combining for seven hits, six runs and six RBIs to lead the host San Francisco Giants to a 14-4 victory.

Pushed back a day to get additional rest, Kyle Harrison (4-1) took advantage of his team's biggest offensive outburst of the season to coast through five innings and guide the Giants to their third straight win.

The hosts wasted no time jumping on ex-Giants left-hander Ty Blach (1-2) for three runs in the first. Chapman kept the inning alive with a two-out double before Matos smacked his second home run of the season, a three-run shot.

The Giants never trailed, adding two in the second and single runs in the third, sixth and seventh before blowing the game open with six in the eighth.

Chapman and Matos teamed in the third with a single and run-scoring double, respectively, then again in the seventh with a double and run-scoring single.

Matos added a two-run single in the six-run eighth, finishing with a career-best six RBIs after he had set a personal standard with five in Friday's 10-5 win.

Following up on a three-hit performance the night before, Matos went 3-for-5, coming up a triple shy of a cycle. He also scored twice. Meanwhile, Chapman, who had three hits and scored three times Friday, ran up a 4-for-4 day with two doubles, a walk and four more runs in the encore.

Jorge Soler collected two doubles, a single and two RBIs. Thairo Estrada and Heliot Ramos each drove in two runs with a pair of hits, Marco Luciano chipped in with a pair of doubles and scored twice, and Curt Casali had a two-run single for the Giants, who outhit the Rockies 18-10.

In extending his career-long home unbeaten streak to nine games, Harrison allowed three runs and five hits in his five innings. He walked two and struck out four.

Blach was pulled after three innings, charged with six runs on seven hits. He walked one and struck out three.

Elehuris Montero drove in two runs while Ezequiel Tovar, Brendan Rodgers and Hunter Goodman had two hits each for the Rockies, who had entered the series on a seven-game winning streak.
