Gird Your Loins, Green Bay: Some Dude Is Running Around Town Pretending To Be Brett Favre
We hear completely retired NFL quarterback Brett Favre is pretty revered up in Wisconsin. Especially in the town of Green Bay. Midwesterners are forgiving folks, and they put up with the whole dong-texting and playing-for-the-Vikings thing. So, as you might expect, some dude (pictured above) pretending to be Favre is similarly popular.
A man who resembles Brett Favre has been impersonating the former Packers quarterback around Green Bay—he's even been wearing a No. 4 jersey.
David Thomason, Favre's travel coordinator, said the man impersonating Favre reportedly attended the Packers practice Thursday and posed for pictures with several fans. He also showed up at two area sports bars, Thomason said.
Fake Favre signed autographs—as Favre—at the sports bars, but apparently he kept his head down while indoors. A bar owner, Jerry Watson, told the Press-Gazette, "The guy is a phony!"
There's no word yet on what could happen if Fake Favre is busted. If Roger Goodell gets involved, we wouldn't expect much more than a $50k fine in Monopoly money.
