Golfer Wins First LPGA Event, Honor Of Being Molested By Frenchmen
Congratulations to Evian Masters winner Ai Miyazato, whose reward is this unsettling photographic commentary on the French libido, golf's patriarchy, modern Orientalism and the staggering inability of women's golf to devise a trophy that doesn't seem vaguely cocklike.
The photo comes to us via Wei Under Par. Miyazato had just secured her first LPGA win, which so excited these two Frenchmen, Franck on the left and Jacques on the right, that they decided to re-enact Jules et Jim all over poor Ai-chan's cheeks. There's so much to unpack here that Franck's death-grip on the trophy's shaft is probably the least troubling thing about it. This shit is a Maurice Chevalier song waiting to happen.
That's it for us. Thanks for your continued support of Deadspin and all that. Barry Petchesky will be around in a bit. And now, the Clash.
