Gordon Hayward's Daughter Crashed His Big Fortnite Stream And Almost Made Him Lose
source: [object Object] Gordon Hayward has long been a prolific gamer, and it seems he’s spent his recovery from that horrific leg injury playing Overwatch, Destiny 2, and, most recently, Fortnite. The free-to-play battle royale game has crossed over into the mainstream in a way that no video game has since Pokemon Go, with Drake even stopping by to play with a famous streamer. It’s not, well, a particularly good game, unless you love construction simulators with a few elements of a third-person shooter, but its structure makes for indisputably compelling theater.
Anyway, Hayward streamed for a while last night, to the delight of thousands of fans and possibly the ire of his family. Around 47 minutes into the stream, his clearly sort of annoyed wife and young daughter came to say hello to him at his gaming chair and tell him that dinner was ready. Hayward kept playing, and when his daughter leapt into his lap during a critical engagement, he somehow survived it.
She then started to try and play a little bit, clearly attracted by the bright colors and prospect of building wooden structures forever, and Hayward was eliminated shortly afterwards. Hayward’s got a True Gamer’s Heart, so he played for another hour and a half.
