Mandatory Credit: Mark Smith-Imagn Images Ann-Katrin Berger made four saves and helped Gotham FC play the Orlando Pride to a 0-0 draw on Sunday in Harrison, N.J.
Berger stopped back-to-back shots by Jacqueline Ovalle and Barbra Banda in the 61st minute to keep the high-scoring Pride out of the net.
It marked Berger's third shutout in four games on the young season for Gotham (1-1-2, 5 points), but the reigning NWSL champions continued to have a problem at the other end of the pitch. The hosts were held scoreless for the third game in a row; their lone tally in a 1-0 season-opening win over the expansion Boston Legacy remains their only goal of the season.
Anna Moorhouse had two saves to keep her second straight clean sheet after Orlando (1-1-2, 5 points) earned a midweek 3-0 win over the Chicago Stars.
Six minutes into second-half extra time, Gotham's Rose Lavelle set up Sofia Cook for a look from outside the box, but Moorhouse preserved the scoreless draw by saving Cook's right-footed shot to the center of the goal.
Gotham came up empty despite possessing the ball for 61% of the game and racking up an 11-1 advantage in corner kicks.
They'll return to the pitch when Gotham visit the Kansas City Current on Saturday, while the Pride return home to entertain Angel City on Friday night.
