Gronk Catches 69th Score, Injures Groin
Photo: Butch Dill/ [object Object] It was hella dope news and bummer news for Rob Gronkowski today. First, the big lunk of a New England Patriot hit a very personal milestone by catching his 69th career receiving touchdown on a play that the Saints’ defense scarcely could have made any easier.
But today wasn’t all fun and games, as later in the second half, Gronk had to come off the field with a groin injury. He didn’t return, but it also wasn’t the kind of game where Gronk needed to return. All signs seemed to be positive afterwards.
Considering that this is the man who once purposely missed a free throw to keep his high school basketball team’s score at 69, maybe he just didn’t want to get to 70.
