Hatcher Goes Wacky Time
This is the final NHL Closer (for now) be written by the fine folks at Melt Your Face Off. Enjoy.
Derian Hatcher doesn't score often, but when he does..... Hatcher scored with just over 10 minutes left to put the Flyers over the Panthers 1-0. Hatcher said after the game, "It's always nice to score. What more can I say?" That's something you would say after your buddies walk in on you screwing a 70 year old hooker. Not what you say after winning a game. Antero Nittymaki made 38 saves for the shutout.
The Rangers Old Folks Home Isn't Done Yet. The Rangers got goals from Brenden Shanahan, Chris Drury, Jaromir Jagr and Dan "Don't Call Me Joe" Girardi. Which of these names is not like the others? Quick tip: When you're relying on a team of players that were playable in NHL 94? It's time to rethink strategies. But it worked for them last night, with Shanahan tipping in the winner in OT.
The Sedin Brothers Will Hunt You Down. Henrik and Daniel Sedin are twin brothers that play for the Vancouver Canucks. They hooked up for an early goal that sent the Canucks over Anaheim 2-1. How unfair is it to have twin brothers playing Left Wing and Center on the same line? There should be rules against this.
Quick programming note: Just because MYFO is closing down the Closer, there's still fun to be had at our site (http://meltyourfaceoff.wordpress.com). Tune in later today for my report as I tried to look professional by scoring press passes to the Tampa Bay Lightning College Challenge over the weekend.
