Help Us Identify These Hundred-Year-Old Sports Photos
A reader named Sam sent along some wonderful old photos, taken more than a century ago, of what appear to be local sports teams. Sam says the photos were in the possession of his late grandmother, but they have no provenance beyond that.
There are clues. The baseball team wears jerseys emblazoned with "New Meadow," a name that currently belongs to several farms across the US, but not a single town. The football team poses with a ball marked "'07," giving us a year. The women's basketball team's ball is marked "N.M. '11"—presumably New Meadow again.
Because we love old timey photos, and because everyone loves a mystery, we're opening it up to you sleuths out there. Maybe there are clues here we've missed, or maybe you're just better at Google than we are, but if you can find any more information on these pictures, please do drop us a line.
