Henrik Lundqvist Really Blew It This Time
Hockey dude Henrik Lundqvist literally fell flat on his face on this play that gave the Sharks their fourth and final “goal” last night.
Lundqvist went behind the “net” to chase down the “puck” after it was shot from “center ice” by a Sharks man and failed to clear it in time to protect his “goal area.” It was a play that even to me, a non-hockey watcher, looked a bit off. Pretty sure you’re not supposed to be stuck behind the “goal” if you’re a “goalie.”
Check it out:
Fortunately for the Sharks, who are now 4-4-0 and fourth in the “Pacific Division,” they had a nice night and “centre” Logan Couture got his 200th career assist.
On one hand, I’d like to say congrats to the Sharks, and thank them for bringing much-needed honor to the mighty, mighty Bay Area. On the other hand, I have had many, many days at work that resemble Lundqvist’s luck on this play, so I don’t want to come down too hard on him.
So, may there be room in our hearts for fuck-ups of all shape, size, and variety. Good job, “hockey.”
