Ryan Mallett was in Charlotte Friday night, and missed some meetings with the Panthers the next day. Almost immediately, the "night on the town" rumors started up. Now Mallett's agent goes into damage control, saying that Mallett was ill, and was in bed by 10 the night before.

The sickness explanation seems more likely, but this isn't great timing for someone already combatting r eports of nebulous "off the field concerns."

It could be worse: it could be Andy Dalton's red hair being a cause for concern for one unidentified team.
