Here's Jim Tressel's Application To Be U. Of Akron President
Akron's president will step down this summer. Among the 19 candidates under consideration is Jim Tressel, the only one without a doctorate.
That lack of degree, and the show-cause penalty that is hanging over his head until 2016 thanks to the NCAA's Ohio State crackdown, surfaced as a roadblock when Tressel was linked to the Youngstown State presidency last year. But he's serious about this one. Akron has made public the applications of all 19 candidates. Tressel's can be found here, and we've embedded below.
In January, after two years serving as Akron's "executive vice president for student success"—a fundraising job—Tressel nominated himself for an interim position. But a month later (on the third page of the document below) he submitted "my enthusiastic application" for the presidency.
