Here's The Champions League Quarterfinal Draw
The Champions League quarterfinal draw is here, and it does a pretty good job of keeping all the most powerful teams separated:
There are clear favorites in every match-up, but each challenger should provide some difficulties, and no weak team snuck through the Round of 16 just to get whupped here.
Barcelona, after getting past Chelsea, will have to tangle with a decent Serie A team in Roma (currently third place), but that’s a pretty favorable draw for the team that now looks like the best in the world again. Bayern, a giant that nevertheless has lost some ground in this competition to Juventus and the biggest Spanish clubs, faces down a Sevilla side that seems to get better every year, and could give them some trouble.
Then there’s the rematch of last year’s final—Juve and Real Madrid. After dispatching PSG while Juventus squeaked by Tottenham, Madrid should have it in them to take down the Italian powerhouse again. And finally, Liverpool go up against Manchester City. It’s almost a disappointment that these two very fun, high-scoring sides have to face each other now, but if their two legs are anything like the 4-3 thriller in January that saw Liverpool victorious at Anfield, it’ll be worth it.
Here’s the Europa League draw, too, if you like Arsenal:
