Here's The Walk-Off Home Run That Lifted The Hoosiers Over Valparaiso
In the first round of the NCAA Regional last night, first-seeded Indiana took on fourth-seeded Valparaiso. Following an error in the top of the 9th inning by Indiana's sophomore second baseman, Chad Clark, Valpo scored two runs. The Hoosiers were up to bat in the bottom of the 9th, down 4-1.
They chipped away at the lead and pulled back to to 4-3. Then with the tying run on second base, Clark stepped up to the plate, because sports are like that sometimes.
He sent the second pitch from Valpo closer Karch Kowalczyk deep over the left field fence for the walk-off home run. It was Clark's first home run of the season.
The Hoosiers won 5-4. They play Austin Peay tonight.
