Here's Video Of Michael Beasley "Mushing" A Fan At A New York City Park Last Night
We learned a new word today: mushing. A mush is when a person puts a hand directly onto another person's face and pushes him or her backward. Minnesota's Michael Beasley "mushed" a heckling fan at New York City's Dyckman Park last night. The incident is not expected to help his job security.
Beasley's mush is notable in part because it was a dumb thing for him to do—trash-talking is elemental to streetball, and players should play through it—and in part because it is a news story about Michael Beasley that does not (yet) include the word "marijuana."
The Daily News has the details on last night's encounter (and probably claim to the first news story to use the word "mush" five separate times):
In the second half, Beasley began jawing with some fans under the baskets, at one point shouting at the crowd "I get paid to do this!"
One of the fans behind a metal barrier, Garland Quince, a regular at Dyckman, was targeted and approached by Beasley. The 6-10, 235-pound power forward then placed one hand on Quince's head and shoved him backward.
"He just mushed me. He mushed me in my face," Quince said. "I was arguing about a Kevin Durant call and he just mushed me in my face."
The game was stopped briefly as security guards helped the situation cool down.

Before the situation was diffused, Beasley approached Quince again, but didn't get there.
"He was about to mush me again," Quince said. "He's a bad sportsman."
Quince, who is reportedly a foot shorter than Beasley, says he won't press charges for the mush.
