Here's Video Proving An Australian Rugby Player Didn't Stick His Fingers In His Cousin's Ass
Jeremy Smith and Kalifa Faifai Loa are cousins. They also both play rugby in Australia. During a recent Cronulla/North Queensland match, Faifai Loa was on the ground with Smith atop him. That much is clear. Here's what isn't clear: Whether Smith slid his fingers up his cousin's ass.
What? It's not like that hasn't happened before. The "infamous" John Hopoate got himself suspended for 12 matches "after inserting his finger into the anus of three players" in 2001. Smith wasn't having it, though. 'Twas merely a gag, said he.
Smith told Cronulla officials it was a prank, but he was only saved from a charge when a video review showed his finger did not make contact with Faifai Loa's anus, but was wedged into his upper hamstring.
"We believe after speaking to both clubs it was a prank gone wrong," Match review commissioner Greg McCallum said. "He ended up making contact with him around his backside area. It was not in the Hopoate class. Still, we were concerned. It was a very concerning action. In our communications with the club today, he is under no illusions. ... We wouldn't have any hesitation to charge him if we felt contact was where people imagined. Clearly it wasn't."
How silly.
