Here's Your "The Battle For Nate Robinson's Tiny Soul" Knicks-Celtics Open Thread
A rivalry! Kinda! Tonight, ESPN begins the resurrection of the dormant-for-like-ever Knicks-Celtics rivalry. We all know what this is really about, though: Nate Robinson and his tiny soul.
The last time I went to a Knicks game at the Garden, things were different. Robinson was a Knick, and the C's were in town for New York's final home game of the 2007-2008 season. Every item of food in the building was free , because the Knicks had won 23 games and because Isiah Thomas had happened. Officially, the free grub was to "thank" Knicks fans for helping them record 21 sellouts that season. Probably, it was more of an apology for putting Knicks fans through that season.
Boston, capping a 66-16 year and about to embark on its 17th championship run, rested all of its starters and won, 99-93.
Robinson, it should be noted, led all scorers with 26 points.
How times have changed! The Celtics have won 10 straight, and the Knicks 8. No free Cracker Jacks tonight, folks.
