Holy Shit, Pacers Trade Paul George To The Thunder
Photo: Andy Lyons/ [object Object] A surprise winner has made off with the grand prize in the Paul George sweepstakes. The Oklahoma City Thunder traded Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis for the Pacers star this evening, per a report from ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne.
George has been very public about his desire to head to L.A. to play for the Lakers after his contract expires following the 2017-18 season, so the Thunder are clearly gambling. However, if George and Russell Westbrook win big, they might be able to mount a very convincing case for him to stay on the prairie. He’d be the perfect complementary star for Russ, as he’ll take a hefty share of the scoring load, can play off the ball, and lock down opposing wings. This NBA offseason has been altogether bonkers and free agency hasn’t even started yet.
