Sports News Without Fear, Favor or Compromise

While American football still has plenty of inroads to make south of the border, its growing popularity can't be denied; there's a strong Mexican college football league featuring the best-named football team anywhere, ever, and Roger Goodell keeps nudging owners toward hosting a regular season NFL game in Mexico City.

While weekly college football games have yet to find their way to ESPN Deportes, Spanish-language broadcasts are quietly being added to the ESPN3 lineup, as was the case Saturday night when Oregon thrashed Arkansas State. Here's several Ducks touchdowns as they could be heard on the Spanish-language feed (unfortunately, we can't seem to find any information on this broadcast team; if you know who they are, tell us).

The announcers do a pretty good job for the most part, though like viewers they seemed to get a bit bored with Oregon's rampant and rapid first-half scoring. We hope ESPN provides viewers this option some more in the future, and maybe on actual TV for once. (Yeah, yeah, "access Spanish with the SAP button," but has that ever worked for anyone, anywhere?)
