Hurricane Milton forces Bucs to New Orleans early
Satellite image of Hurricane Milton Monday morning, Oct. 7, 2024. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will leave for New Orleans on Tuesday morning to get ahead of Wednesday's expected landfall of Hurricane Milton, currently a Category 4 storm.
The team will relocate operations to the New Orleans area for the remainder of the week leading up to their Week 6 game against the Saints.
The Bucs (3-2) are coming off a 36-30 loss in Atlanta to the Falcons on Thursday to kick off Week 5. The Saints play Monday night at Kansas City to conclude Week 5.
Hurricane Milton, expected to become a Category 5 storm later Monday, is forecast to make landfall on the west coast of Florida -- possibly close to Tampa -- on Wednesday evening.
