If You Like Supporting Jewish Charities, And You Want To Have Steak With Mo Vaughn, Boy, Do We Have The Auction Item For You
Now, I have no idea what the Russian American Jewish Experience is—and, consider, I'm vaguely descended from Russian Jews—but I do know they have one of the most exquisite experiences ever up for auction right now.
Lunch with Mo Vaughn at Steak House (4 People)
Former Boston Red Sox Star Won 1995 American League MVP
Opening Bid $1,000
Oh man. So much going on here. For example, all the other athletes offering their services appear to be either Russian, Jewish, or both. Mo Vaughn is, best I can tell, neither.
But I think I'm primarily fixated on lunch at a steak house—what, Mo Vaughn can't meet some Russian-American-Jew-loving philanthropists after sundown? Presumably those individuals dropping their sweat-earned coin on this affair want at least the possibility of spending a night on the town with Hit Dog, slipping past the velvet ropes of all the nightclubs he's been going to since 2002, when he, Roberto Alomar, Jeromy Burnitz, and Jeff D'Amico heralded a new era of Mets baseball. Who knows, maybe Alomar and Burnitz and D'Amico and Steve Phillips are all inside the VIP lounge too, gnarled orange-and-blue amber.
