Illinois Receiver Malik Turner Taken Off Field On Stretcher After Helmet-To-Helmet Hit
Minnesota defensive back Duke McGhee was ejected for targeting after a play that left Illinois wide receiver Malik Turner on a stretcher.
Turner, who accounts for more of his team’s receiving yards than any other player in the country, held his head in his hands as EMTs drove him off the field. The junior has 513 receiving yards for the Illini this season. Officials upheld the on-field targeting call against McGhee after replay review. We’ll update this post with Turner’s condition as information becomes available.
