Injured Evgeni Plushenko Withdraws From Men's Individual Event
Legendary Russian figure skater Evgeni Plushenko will not be competing for a medal in the men's individual figure skating event after all. When Plushenko took the ice to begin his short program today, he skated over to the judges' table and told them that he was withdrawing from the competition.
Plushenko's injured back has been a constant bother, and in the GIF above you can see him favoring it after aborting a jump during warmups. This is almost certainly the last we will ever see of Plushenko, who we will always remember as figure skating's old badass. You can find everything you need to know about him in the guide below, which we published on Monday.
