Italian Club Pissed Off At Player Pee Allegations
Photo: Franco Origlia/ [object Object] Giovanni Liberti, a player with the fourth-tier Italian soccer club Turris, is in hot, yellowish water with Serie D officials. According to the Associated Press, the league suspended Liberti for five matches after he “urinated in the direction of the away section, making obscene and vulgar gestures, while showing his genital organ.”
Turris, however, dispute the allegation that Liberti ever pissed towards any fans during the 3-3 draw against Sarnese. Turris president Antonio Colantonio offered up a grasp at an alternative explanation, which he claimed could be corroborated by the visiting club. From the report:
Colantonio says, “There’s a fountain near the wall and the player ... was drinking and adjusting his shirt which, by regulation, should be inside his shorts.”
He adds: “The visiting club confirmed to us that our player did not do anything that has been alleged.”
