It's Been A Horrible Two Days For Fred Davis [Mug Shot Update]
Above is a photo, sent to us by a reader, of Redskins TE Fred Davis being arrested yesterday afternoon in Tyson's Corner, Va. Fairfax County police confirmed Davis was charged with driving under the influence—in his year-old Rolls-Royce Phantom—but no further updates were available on his status this morning.
Update: Chuck Carroll of CBS DC reports that a passerby called 911 to report a man slumped over the driver's seat at the intersection, and when police and EMTs responded, he tried to drive away.
On Wednesday, the NFL announced that Davis is suspended indefinitely for violating the league's substance-abuse policy. It's his second, after a four-game ban in 2011 that Davis claimed was for marijuana. This time he says he unwittingly took a banned substance in a nutritional supplement.
Davis, who is poised to become a free agent, will have to apply for reinstatement. He took the news of this suspension well, it seems—Davis was spotted partying at The Huxley nightclub in D.C. on Wednesday night. Police said DUI arrest was made at 3:45 p.m. the next day.
There was, for a brief time, video of Davis's arrest floating around. Have it? Send it our way.
Update: Here's Davis's mug shot, just released by police:
