It's Official: Erin Andrews Joins Fox
Well, congratulations are in order. Fox has officially announced the return of Erin Andrews to the network responsible for her first break in 2000 when she worked at Fox Sports Florida.
Andrews will host FOX's new prime time college football pregame show and will make significant contributions to the network's NFL and MLB coverage, along with other sports properties, as part of a multiyear deal announced by FOX on Sunday.
Andrews will debut on the Fox college football pregame show on September 1, when USC host Hawaii at the LA Coliseum. Eric Shanks of FOX Sports Media Group also noted that Andrews will anchor the Fox college football studio coverage.
Going from ESPN's college football coverage to Fox's is decidedly a step down (even though she is hosting), so it will be interesting to see what Shanks means when he says he expects her to be a "big contributor to our MLB and NFL coverage as well as other major events."
