Mandatory Credit: Jerome Miron-Imagn Images Australian driver Jack Doohan has left the Alpine Formula 1 team to pursue other career opportunities, the team announced Tuesday.
Alpine dropped Doohan from its racing lineup eight months ago, replacing him with Franco Colapinto six races into the 2025 F1 campaign. His best finish was 13th at the Chinese Grand Prix on March 23.
Doohan still was under contract but the team said it reached a "mutual agreement with Jack Doohan to not continue his driving services with the team for the 2026 FIA Formula One world championship season and allow him to pursue other career opportunities."
Doohan continued to work with Alpine as a test driver and a reserve after being demoted. Alpine finished last among the 10 teams in the F1 constructors' standings.
Doohan, 22, had been with Alpine since 2002 after coming up through the Red Bull Junior program from 2017-21.
