Jags name former HOF lineman Tony Boselli EVP of Operations
Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen, left, speaks next to Jacksonville Jaguars Hall of Famer Tony Boselli Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025 at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla. Jaguars fans got a chance to see the new head coach speak and give a warm welcome at the stadium. The Jacksonville Jaguars hired their very first draft pick, Hall of Fame offensive lineman Tony Boselli, as executive vice president of operations on Monday.
Boselli will report directly into owner Shad Khan along with new head coach Liam Coen and the general manager, who has yet to be hired. The trio will "form a football leadership unit that will collaborate and align on all major football decisions, develop long-term strategy for sustained on-field success and provide counsel to the team owner," according to a team release.
"My job is not to be out front; my job is to help Liam Coen, his staff and the new GM to have success," Boselli said. "That's all I want to do. That's all I care about. It's focused on Liam. I'm going to make sure Liam and that staff he has and the players he brings in have the ultimate success."
Khan said last week he intends to have a GM in place by the end of February.
Boselli was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2022, the first member of the Jacksonville franchise to earn the honor. He was selected No. 2 overall by the Jaguars in 1995, the franchise's first-ever draft pick, making five Pro Bowls and three All-Pro honors in seven seasons.
