Jaguars DE Travon Walker undergoes wrist surgery, could play vs. KC
Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Travon Walker (44) flexes after a sack on Houston Texans quarterback CJ. Stroud (7) during the first quarter of an NFL football matchup at EverBank Stadium, Sunday, Sept. 21, 2025, in Jacksonville, Fla. The Jaguars defeated the Texans 17-10. Jaguars defensive end Travon Walker is entertaining the idea of playing in an NFL game less than a week after surgery on his wrist.
Jacksonville head coach Liam Coen revealed on Thursday morning that Walker underwent surgery after he was hurt in Sunday's 26-21 Week 4 win at San Francisco.
Walker, who has 2.0 sacks and 12 tackles this season, was wearing a sling when he left Levi's Stadium with the team on Sunday night.
"Saw a specialist on Monday, had a surgical procedure done, will be listed as day-to-day," Coen said of Walker. "And we'll update you guys per the injury report, just like every other player at the end of the day."
Even if he's unable to practice, Coen said the door is not closed on Walker suiting up for the Jaguars in a home "Monday Night Football" matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs.
If Walker, 24, is cleared to play Monday, he could wear a protective brace and be under snap-count limitations.
The fourth-year defensive end was the No. 1 pick in the 2022 draft out of Georgia. He also had surgery during his freshman season in October 2019 to repair a broken wrist but returned to play for the Bulldogs a few weeks later.
The Jaguars picked up Walker's fifth-year option for the 2026 season worth $14.7 million.
Walker has played in every game (38 consecutive starts) since the beginning of his second NFL season in 2023. He missed two games as a rookie and has compiled 26 sacks in 53 career regular-season games.
