Jake Bauers Scores From Second On Passed Ball Thanks To Just The Sleepiest Yankees Defensive Effort
credits: Mike Carlson | source: [object Object] Jake Bauers socked a three-run dinger in the fifth inning tonight against the Yankees. That’s cool. It’s cool to sock dingers, especially against the abominable Yankees. But Bauers’s best highlight from Monday night came in the bottom of the first inning, when he scored from second base on a passed ball, aided by some startlingly indifferent defending by several Yankees fielders:
Truly inspirational stuff, especially from Gary Sanchez, who pursued the ball into foul territory with the half-hearted gait of a man whose fast food receipt got yanked into the street by a sudden wind. Ah I guess I’d better at least pretend to track this thing down, someone’s probably watching. Someone was watching, and he pinched an unlikely run for his alertness.
