Jalon Moore scores 19 2nd-half points as No. 21 Oklahoma tops winless Alcorn State

Mandatory Credit: Alonzo Adams-Imagn Images Jalon Moore scored 19 of his 20 points in the second half to help No. 21 Oklahoma break out of an early slumber en route to a 94-78 victory over winless Alcorn State on Saturday night in Norman, Okla.
Moore connected on all eight of his second-half shots and was 8 of 9 overall for the Sooners (9-0). Jeremiah Fears and Dayton Forsythe each added 14 points and seven assists for Oklahoma.
Mohamed Wague had 12 points on 6-of-7 shooting and Brycen Goodine added 12 on four 3-pointers for the Sooners. Duke Miles had five steals and Fears contributed three for Oklahoma, which shot 54.7 percent from the field and was 12 of 37 from 3-point range.
Omari Hamilton scored 16 points and Davian Williams added 13 points and seven assists for Alcorn State (0-10). Keionte Cornelius and Michael Pajeaud scored 11 points apiece and Dhaji Binet had 10.
The Braves have yet to play at home this season and their list of road losses includes Utah, Utah State, Tulane, TCU, Washington and Maryland.
Alcorn State shot 52.6 percent from the field and was 10 of 20 from behind the arc.
Moore scored 11 points during a 17-3 burst early in the second half that saw the Sooners boost their lead from 6 points (51-45) to 20 with 14:42 left in the contest.
The Braves didn't go away, however, scoring 12 of the next 17 points to pull within 73-60 on a 3-pointer by Cornelius with 10:01 to play.
Moore answered with a 3-pointer to continue his strong second half. Later, Moore and Wague scored consecutive baskets to make it 82-62 with 6:14 remaining.
Oklahoma's lead topped out at 23 points.
Fears scored 10 points and Oklahoma shot 60 percent from the field in the first half while taking a 49-41 lead at the break. The Sooners were 9 of 19 from 3-point range.
Williams scored 10 in the half for the Braves, who shot 59.3 percent from the field and were 7 of 11 from behind the arc.
Alcorn State got two 3-pointers from Hamilton and one from Williams during a 9-0 surge to take an early 14-5 lead.
The Braves were up 37-35 before Goodine sank a 3-point to start a half-ending 14-4 run. Goodine hit another trey during the burst that gave the Sooners an eight-point lead.
