Jamaican Newspaper Has Some Sick Burns For Lorde

Lorde really stepped in it this time, you guys. This is a picture of a brief item that ran in the last month, after Lorde publicly stated her hatred for reggae music. As you can see, her thoughts on the genre were not irie with the Jamaica Star.

What I love most about this weird, brief screed is not the burns—although "say you a 17 and look like 3 million" is pretty strong—but the tension between the headline and the body. "Lorde, hate is a strong word" is just so tame and neutral, and then all of sudden we're reading about how much she looks like Smeagol. It's as if someone put a New York Times headline above a crazy Facebook comment.
