Japanese Pole Vaulter Denies That His Dick And Balls Got Him Disqualified
Screencap via [object Object] Brazilian Thiago Da Silva left the pole vault finals with a gold medal and an Olympic record. Japanese pole vaulter Hiroki Ogita left with a 21st-place finish and a dick foible seen ‘round the world.
Specifically, he mashed his dick and balls onto the pole vault bar on his way down from an ascent at 5.30 meters.
As you’ll notice, his shins clearly smacked into the bar before anything else. It was going down whether or not his dick flopped into it. Like most people who become memes, Ogita isn’t too happy about it. As BBC Asia reports, he did some tweets (in Japanese) that expressed his disgust with the foreign media all running with the narrative that his dick knocked over the bar. As translated by BBC:
“I never expected the foreign media to take me down like this,” the 28-year-old athlete tweeted.
“It’s one thing if it was true, but I have to say I’m pretty devastated that they’d go so far to make something up to mock and ridicule me so much.”
Pole vault coach David Yeo told BBC that the bar was going down either way. The media noticing his hefty dong isn’t something I’d file under mockery and ridicule, but I do see his point, especially since it had nothing to do with his pole vaulting success or failure. However even if the widely-passed around conclusion that his swinging dick dislodged the bar was wrong, he did admit that the video was pretty funny.
