Jason Kidd Will Use The Matrix And/Or Elysium As Motivation
At a screening of Matt Damon's new sci-fi flick Elysium, Nets head coach Jason Kidd told The Source that he loves The Matrix and thinks he can use it (or Elysium) as a motivational tool. The Jason Kidd coaching experiment is gonna be great, you guys.
The worst part is that Kidd's reason for looking to these movies is the most banal possible one:
Q: Growing up did you have any futuristic movies or books that made you think the future would look something like the world of “Elysium?”
Jason Kidd: I’m a big fan of the “Matrix.” I thought that was a classic, it kind of gave us something of what the future could be. But also some of the plot of this movie! He’s fighting for what he believes in and so it’s something that hopefully when I see them, now that I’m a coach, I can use this as one of my tools.
Are there movies in which no character, at any point, fights for what they believe in? Could Jason Kidd use Norbit or Yentl as motivational tools in the same vein? Did Kidd miss every other point of The Matrix? How much dumber is Kidd's head coaching tenure going to get before his first preseason game?
So many questions, and all I want is something of what the future could be.
