Jason Peters Accused Of Drag Racing, Leading Police On 100 MPH Chase
Eagles tackle Jason Peters was arrested early yesterday morning in Monroe, La., after allegedly drag racing then fleeing from police when they tried to pull him over.
According to the a deputy saw a white Chevrolet Camaro, driven by Peters, and a blue sedan pull up to a red light around 4:45 a.m., and begin racing as soon as it turned green. When the deputy put his lights and siren on, the sedan pulled over but Peters sped off. According to the affidavit, Peters exceeded speeds of 100 mph with the deputy in pursuit.
He eventually pulled over in a shopping mall parking lot, where he complied with commands to get out of his car. He was handcuffed, arrested, and booked on charges of drag racing and resisting by flight.
Peter made the Pro Bowl five straight seasons from 2007-2011, but missed all of last year with a twice-ruptured Achilles tendon.
