Jerry Sandusky's Big Hearing Today Lasted Approximately One Minute [UPDATE]

Jerry Sandusky was supposed to have faced at least five of his accusers in court today, which is why so many media creatures (Deadspin included) had blown into town and all but lashed themselves to trees. Bellefonte stood at Sandusky pundit DEFCON 1. Instead, this is what happened (via StateCollege.com's Twitter feed):

8:29 a.m.:

8:30 a.m.:

Sandusky has waived the hearing. #PSUCharges

Sandusky will be arraigned Jan. 11. "Bunch of rubbish going on here," Luke just told me over the phone, before plunging into a media scrum. We'll have more from our boys in Bellefonte soon.

Update [9:26 a.m.]: Sandusky talks, drops metaphor: "We fully intend to put together the best possible defense and stay the course for four full quarters."

Update [11:15 a.m.]: Joe Amendola tells anyone who believes Mike McQueary's story to "dial 1-800-REALITY." That's a gay phone sex line.
