Joey Daccord, Kraken surprise slumping Bruins

A pair of Massachusetts natives led the way as the visiting Seattle Kraken pulled off a 4-1 win over the Boston Bruins on Thursday night.
Hingham's Matty Beniers had a goal and two assists while North Andover's Joey Daccord stopped 37 of the 38 shots he faced to lead Seattle in its second straight win since a three-game skid.
Fifteen of Daccord's saves came in the first period.
Jordan Eberle, Eeli Tolvanen and Jared McCann also scored for the Kraken, who were completing a five-game road stretch.
David Pastrnak scored his team-leading 34th goal of the season and Jeremy Swayman made 22 stops for Boston, which is 1-3-1 on its current seven-game homestand.
Amidst a dominant start that saw the Bruins record the first 11 shots, Pastrnak scored his league-leading ninth game-opening goal this season at 4:54. Pavel Zacha's shot from the high slot produced a rebound that the top-scoring winger potted on a second effort out front.
At 9:11, Seattle beat Swayman with only its third shot to make it a 1-1 game. Eberle drove to the net and stuffed home his own rebound on a power play.
Charlie McAvoy and Pastrnak hit iron, but the Bruins got no closer to scoring in the second period despite another controlling edge (12-10) in shots.
Instead, the Kraken took advantage of a turnover and took a 2-1 lead with 2:25 left in the middle frame. After Boston defenseman Brandon Carlo fell at the offensive blue line, Beniers fed Tolvanen on a 2-on-1 in transition and ripped a shot from the right circle past Swayman.
Daccord held off a Boston surge and made a key last-minute stop on Jake DeBrusk from close range to preserve Seattle's lead through two periods.
The Bruins had a golden chance to draw back even when Brad Marchand fed Charlie Coyle, whose backhander hit the outside of the post early in the third.
Another near miss was costly as another giveaway resulted in an insurance goal at the opposite end of the ice at 8:36. After Alex Wennberg blocked Parker Wotherspoon's point shot, he fed Beniers, who rushed down the left side and sniped past Swayman to up Seattle's lead to 3-1.
Just more than a minute later, Daccord highlighted his night by sprawling out to stuff Pastrnak at the right post.
McCann added an empty-net goal from long distance in the final minute.
