Joey Votto's Clean Locker Prompts Trade Speculation
Reds first baseman Joey Votto really shouldn't maintain such a tidy locker. When he does, people start to think he's leaving Cincinnati.
Sure, Votto admittedly hasn't been himself while dealing with a quad injury, but would the Reds—who are still very much in the postseason hunt—really try to ship out their franchise player who has a full no-trade clause in his contract? (No.)
(That's Bob Castellini, the Reds owner.)
It didn't help matters that the Rays are apparently trying to trade pitcher David Price, who shares a last name with Reds manager Bryan Price. That led to the worst game of telephone.
Eventually, Bryan Price let everyone know that Votto was only taking a day off.
That was fun. Stop being so damn clean, Joey Votto!
