Josh Donaldson Throws Post-Strikeout Tantrum, Yells At John Gibbons In Dugout
Photo credit: Ralph Freso/ [object Object] Reigning American League MVP Josh Donaldson was pulled from today’s Toronto Blue Jays–New York Yankees game with a jammed right thumb, but not before he threw a shitfit in the dugout and had to be held back by Troy Tulowitzki while arguing with Blue Jays manager John Gibbons. Donaldson went 1-for-4 with two strikeouts, and threw his bat into the dugout after the second. Gibbons, surely unhappy that Donaldson could have fucked up someone real good with that errant bat, called him out immediately. Shockingly, that only added fuel to the fire, and Donaldson, a notorious hothead, gave it right back to Gibby. As far as baseball fights go, Donaldson’s outburst is a pretty weak offering. However, an All-Star slugger being a crybaby during a day game in the mid-August drag is good enough for me, so watch the argument below:

After the game, Donaldson told reporters he and Gibbons were discussing his Tom Ford cologne. Nice attempt to swerve, buddy. (Gibbons said they’d actually gone at it because Gibbons had told him to change his bat after the first strikeout, but Donaldson ignored him and struck out again.)
