Josh Hamilton Cost An Insurance Company $500K Last Night
If you tried to check out CC Carpet Flooring and Design Center's offerings online today, you would have read this message: "Our website is currently overloaded due to GRAND SLAM activity! We apologize for the inconvenience, please try again later."
Josh Hamilton of the Texas Rangers is both a customer and a promoter of said establishment. His bat is also the focus of a promotion in which floors and counter tops purchased there in September would be free should the slugger hit a bases-loaded dinger. Well, here's video of the bases-loaded dinger Hamilton hit last night against the Indians.
Those folks cashed in to the tune of $500,000 on Hamilton's third career grand slam and first since May 27, 2008, at Tampa Bay. CC Carpet owner Steve Fitzgerald couldn't be happier.
"I'm excited. I'm great," said Fitzgerald, who had secured an insurance policy before offering the promotion. "I wish he could have waited until the last game of the season so more people could have gotten it."
Quite the giver, that Fitzgerald.
