Jozy Altidore Leads Toronto To Championship In MLS Title Game Rematch
A 67th-minute Jozy Altidore goal led Toronto to a 2-0 win over Seattle that earned his team its first-ever MLS championship and avenged last year’s MLS title match loss to the Sounders.
Víctor Vázquez added an injury-time insurance goal to contribute to the score sheet. It’s the first MLS title for a Canadian team, and the first North American title for a Canadian team in any sport since 1993, when Montreal won the Stanley Cup and the Blue Jays claimed the World Series.
